I am going to talk about the trending designs and my personal taste in today’s post. combat boots, shearling accents, knee-high leather boots, Lug-hole Chelsea boots, and fashionable snow boots.

In the last post, I said: “Since winter is coming or it already came, it’s officially the weather of scarves.” In the same context, it is also officially the weather of boots.” However, unlike the scarves which mostly are in a square shape – even though it has many kinds of unique patterns-, boots have various kinds of designs: short boots, long boots, leather boots, soft boots… It’s not even possible to mention all of the designs. So! I am going to talk about the trending designs and my personal taste in today’s post. Now let’s get started.

The trending designs

There is an article from Harper’s Bazaar, talking about the trending boots in this 2019 winter season. The article mentions 5 boots design: combat boots, shearling accents, knee-high leather boots, Lug-hole Chelsea boots, and fashionable snow boots. And these designs, of course, can be found on Korea’s shoe brand too. As I did last week, I am going to recommend to you some great brands to shop for these trendy products. Chelsea boots are actually a really common design but, this brand should be recommended. It has a great price considering its quality, and ‘to be comfortable’ is an important component of Chelsea boots. Plus, if you have a chance, go see other shoes from this brand too. The brand makes french-chic mood, stylish designs.

Lens Color Recommendation: Warm violet

For this cold weather, of course, warm colors would be great. Among those warm colors, the violet is a color gives you a soft and deep image. It’ll complete your fashionable look.

K-Beauty became more popular day by day in Asian and global places. What’s so special about it? Here are some stories about global influencers on beauty and fashion.

What drives your purchase decision? In my case, I usually try new stuff by myself on-site if available, then make a decision. In other words, I rarely purchase goods without using it firsthand. However, the new generation has a very different purchase pattern. They tend to rely on influencers. In their viewpoint, they trust influencers’ decision more than their peers or family.

In this post, I’d like to talk about K-Beauty influencers in Asia. First off, after I spent some time on this topic, I couldn’t believe how much K-Beauty has grown over the last decade. As far as I can remember when I was young, people thought high-quality beauty products should be from Europe or the USA. But now a lot of people use K-Beauty products over foreign products in the domestic market and it’s spreading to the global market. Secondly, I got surprised to know that quite a few popular beauty product influencers in the Asian area have become advocates of K-Beauty products.

She became popular not only as an influencer fashion blogger but also as someone from Muslim culture who removes Hijab in her public appearances such as YouTube. As you can imagine, it’s really a big deal in Muslim culture.

Now she became huge advocates of K-Beauty products. She got to know Korean cosmetic brands from a few years ago. Ascia has quite sensitive skin. So she had to be careful to choose what to use otherwise, she would instantly have skin troubles. She like K-beauty products because it focuses on healthy skin, in other words, it won’t use harmful or artificial ingredients. When Ascia started promoting K-Beauty products through her social media such as Instagram and YouTube, a lot of women in the Middle East area started using K-Beauty goods.

She sold $43,17 million in sales in a single live streaming show.

I couldn’t believe this. She is indeed a huge legend even in China. As a huge influencer in Beauty and Fashion area in China, she started selling K-beauty products in China. However, she noticed that there are a lot of counterfeit products in China. So she decided to stream video everything from scratch. I mean literally everything. From getting on the plane, and visiting local cosmetic stores, then she purchased goods as soon as she got an order in real-time via Chinese online streaming platform (remember YouTube is blocked in China.) Then finally she rented a container to ship all orders from the show, then streamed every second of loading products in real-time to make sure that the products Chinese customers ordered are indeed authentic. Surely, she thought her words weren’t enough. Due to her unique approach, purchasing stuff through her means it’s really authentic products!

Even though the trade war between Korea and Japan is still ongoing, there are quite a few influencers from Japan promoting K-Beauty products. Since this is about K-beauty and its relationship with influencers’ story, I won’t talk about the trade war, however, should you be curious, check out this article.

Years ago, it was quite the opposite. We relied on beauty products from Japan. But now, women in Japan fell in love with K-beauty. It all started because of K TV Shows. Actors and actresses looked all very young from the show, therefore Japanese women got curious about what those celebrities use. Now through word of mouth thanks to YouTube, SNS influencers K-Beauty products are really popular.

Since winter is coming or it already came, it’s officially the weather of scarves. So I thought it would be great if we could share our ideas about scarf looks. I’ll share my idea on my post and you guys can share your ideas on the comment section. If last week was a prepare, this week is a real game. You can apply it tomorrow or even right now. Then let’s see how we can use the scarves as a fashion item. 🙂

This method is not actually limited to winter, but it is fine to wear in winter too. Styling your hair using a scarf is applicable in any weather. If you match the tone and manner between your scarf and your blouse, it could even be a good point for a working look. Starting from simply tying your hair as a ponytail, you can make a ballerina bun, and furthermore, you can braid your hair using the scarf as a hairpiece. If you enter “scarf hairstyle” via youtube, you may see hundreds of hairstyles using a scarf.

Using a scarf as a belt may not seem common but if you actually see one, you might want to apply it for yourself too. It gives a point to a simple look and helps a normal boring look to seem pretty fashionable. Below would be a great example from teen vogue magazine.

If you’re into fashion, it is hard to not know Hermes’s Twilly. It is an iconic item in many ways but for me, the biggest impact it gave is ‘a scarf as an accessory for a bag handle’. Twilly started this popular look for the first time. This look shines especially in cold weather since the scarf wraps the handbag and it helps you make a good balance between your heavy winter fashion and your bag. Though Hermes is a high-end luxury brand, there are lots of other brands making thin scarfs for bag accessories. It’ll be easy for you to find an affordable scarf for your bag.

Last but not least, I cannot mention this original scarf look, scarf used as neckwear. In weather like these days, we really need to warm our neck to even just simply prevent ourselves from catching a cold. So since it is necessary to protect our neck, let’s choose a fashionable one and use it wisely. The picture below can be a good example. However, you can make the scarf any shape you want: a ribbon, necktie, bow, etc, matching the tone and manner. And for the scarf’s design, I would recommend a warm-toned color with a mixture of one-colored part and check-designed part, which will help your look match to the weather.

Not that there is a lens color that fits all kinds of scarves, but regarding the weather, orange-brown and old-copper would look great on your look. Warm-toned dark colors will help you look warm and comfortable.

Why don’t you spend some time with yourself? Importance of “Me” time.

Living a hectic life? You need to start thinking about finding time for yourself . Otherwise, the life will ruin your health, and beauty. Here are some tips for you.

How does your day look like? Wake up early in the morning. Take a quick coffee. Skip breakfast. Take your kids to schools, then off to work. Does this sound familiar to you? I hope not. However, if this is your life by any chance, you must consider spending some “me” time seriously.

If you’re caught up with busy daily life, oftentimes, there is no “me” time during weekdays or possible weekends, either. “Me” time means spending some time only for yourself with no strings attached. It doesn’t have to be luxury time either. Sometimes, turning off your mobile phones and do nothing for the day can be a perfect example of spending a “me” time.

Living a hectic life often produces fatigue and anxieties. If you don’t take them seriously, it could manifest into physical diseases. You might think this is too far fetched ideas but you will know soon enough. Trust me.

I’d like to recommend you with a few “Me” time.

1.Yoga

I am sure you’ve tried it at least once. But if you take yoga seriously, you can begin to spend some quality “Me” time. Yoga is considered a physical exercise which is true but it’s more than a physical exercise. It’s more like a mental retreat. When you make some yoga postures, you need to think through it. Otherwise, you often end up with bad postures. By posing good postures, you get to earn time to think more, once you get used to it, then you can begin to meditate during each movement. Meditation is more like removing unnecessary thoughts, in other words, clearing your mind. This is a perfect example of spending quality “Me” time.

2.An intensive workout with the help of a professional personal trainer.

When you spend a one-hour intensive workout, you can remove cluttered thoughts completely. However, you can do this much easier when you get some professional help. Usually, a professional personal trainer knows what muscles to use to develop once’s body. They also know what sequences of workout one should do. Sometimes, if you mess up with workout sequences, you can’t lift something up because you already used up your muscle strength in some parts of your body. Even though you are with someone else(a trainer), you would enjoy spending a quality “me” time by removing unnecessary thoughts out of your mind for an hour.

As a bonus, you get a healthy mind and the body.

Now, you get the idea. The point is to find a moment with being yourself by removing unnecessary thoughts out of your mind for some time.

Intensive Workout will give you peace of mind.

By spending “Me” time, you can relieve some stress. Or get some creative ideas for your life. As you can imagine, this will definitely affect your skin. In other words, you can keep your shying beauty as long as possible.

Ash brown helps your eye look much lighter than your original eye color. (If you have dark-brown eyes) And the lighter color allows you to look mystic in a good way, and also gives you a girlish vibe. Ash brown just genuinely matches the season full of greens and flowers.

A special Halloween lens will make you stand out from the crowd

How was your halloween costume party? If you costume wasn’t enough, a special halloween colored contact lens will make you stand out. Check out some photos.

How was your Halloween? It’s usually a fun day for most kids but it’s even more fun day for a lot of grown-ups because of a costume party. I am sure you must have tried your best to stand out from the crowd but it’s not easy. With this being said, I’d like to give you some tips on how to stand out at Halloween costume parties.

Before I give you a very important tip, let me start with Halloween costume parties at Itaewon street in Seoul, South Korea. We didn’t celebrate Halloween until quite recently. People got to know Halloween from Hollywood movies but no one really cared much. Then one day, some English kindergarten started Halloween decoration and did some party with students and their parents. This became viral through online media (mostly via SNS). From the following year, even regular kindergarten schools started Halloween parties and decorations.

Then one day, this inspired some adults and they started wearing Halloween costume at Itaewon street where a lot of foreigners, as well as local people, gather for various activities (mostly clubs and bars) every night. This became a huge deal from a few years ago. Since then for a few days before and after Halloween day, there is a lot of people showing off unique Halloween costume with a special make-up at Itaewon street.

Take this photo as an example, a few friends put on an interesting costume with spooky make-up. They pose to people whoever wants to take a photo of them. Of course, their costume stands out, but I decided to help them even further. We offered them a few different Halloween lenses such as a UV lens which glows at dark places or white with a red circle lens which makes you look like a vampire.

Now you must get the idea. The special tip for making you look unique at Halloween parties is to put on special Halloween lenses. It’s a bit expensive than a regular lens. But if you take good care of it, you could reuse it for two years without having to dispose of it after the event.

Travel Fashion tips for girls trip to Europe

What are your travel fashion tips? Here are a few we’d like to recommend. Start with bags to shoes and clothing. You don’t have to sacrifice your fashion to travel.

Hi, this is Izzy back again! This week, as I noticed last week, is FINALLY about FASHION! This week’s theme is not solely about Korean fashion, but it sure gives great information: Travel Fashion tips for girls trip to Europe. You would think “Why Europe?” and “Why travel?” then I will respond, “Because it’s a common dream continent to travel for Korean girls” and “Because I’m so sick of school right now.” I thought it would be nice for us to have a little throwback to our nice vacation memories at this point, right in the middle of the winter semester. Plus, I traveled all around the world since age 4 so you can trust my fashion tips on traveling. Then let’s get started!

1 BAG: ENOUGH SPACE with PROPER ZIPPER

One of the most important things we should consider before traveling is what bag we’re going to use during touring. For me, there are two standards: Does it have a PROPER ZIPPER? Does it have ENOUGH SPACE? The first standard, having a proper zipper is especially important in Europe. Since most of the country in Europe have numbers of pickpocket, tourists always have to be aware if their bag is closed and zipped properly. The moment you forget to care, you’ll lose your precious money. They have super fast hands and we never can win them if our bag is opened. And the second standard is having enough space. When traveling, it requires more things than casual night-out with friends. We need sunscreens, a cardigan, a camera, a charger… and even more than this. Thus having enough space is quite necessary for your convenience. Plus it would be even better if the bag’s weight is light. Last but not least, you should check if it is wearable for any fashion looks. As you see the bag I used while traveling has a natural color that matches all kinds of colors. Since it is hard to take more than one bag for traveling, the one you picked should match all of the clothes you take.

2 SHOES: Is it SUPER COMFY?

Fashion tip for shoes is pretty simple. Check if it is super duper comfortable. Just good to wear is not enough. It has to be SUPER comfy. If you cannot drive and you’re a student earning less money, there is no choice: you have to walk A LOT. Even shoes that felt not bad to wear could be uncomfortable if you walk more than usual. Additionally, for the same reason with the bag, the shoes should match every looks you wear. I recommend white or black sneakers.

3 CLOTHING: Fashionable, yet comfortable

Now, I know this is the tricky part. How can it be fashionable yet comfortable? There are two rules I follow when I pack clothes for vacation. First of all, it should match the scenery and atmosphere of the place. For example, when I visited Brienz Lake, I wore a blue dress that showed my back and had a ribbon on my back. The girlish look and fresh atmosphere of the place are harmonious. Like this, before you visit, consider the main colors and atmosphere of the place and try to match the tone and manner of the place. Then your look would look much more fashionable. Secondly, if you matched the tone and manner, check if they are all comfortable. You don’t have to be too strict. Many people give up their fashion while traveling because they think wearing training pants is the best to wander around. However, if your cloth allows you to properly breathe and doesn’t bother you breathe, it doesn’t matter. I wore all kinds of clothes such as dresses, over-all, short pants, a skirt, and nothing made me feel uncomfortable. You know picture is the only thing left after all. Then why don’t we leave a perfect picture of us in a perfect view with perfect fashion?

These are all of my tips and I strongly recommend you to visit Europe. Every country had its color and the architectures are so beautiful. From Instagram trends, mini bags are getting popular. If you look up #minibag, you would see tons of girls with tiny bags.

Wait! There is just one problem. You can’t fit your daily belongs in a tiny bag. So people started using a big eco-bag along with tiny bag. Obviously, eco-bags are not matching with a stylish bag. So the new trend is the brand companies started offering two bags with the same design. Big and mini bags in one package.

Youth is more valuable than real gold or diamond. So you don’t need expensive stuff to complete your look. However, don’t look for cheap stuff either. Demi-fine jewelry is marked at moderate prices. 3. Colored contact lenses

“I don’t need to wear eyeglasses, but I wear colored contact lenses every day to complete my fashion look.” I often hear this from my models (as you might know, I am a photographer.) I understand what they mean by this. When I take a photo of them, they look more alive with a colored contact lens even though I wouldn’t notice it without their telling me. But without it, somewhat my photos of them turned out to be dull. I will be honest with you, in this case, I have to post-process my photo to make the model’s eyes more vibrant.

I know that many foreign fans are curious about how K-pop or K-drama stars look so young and don’t age. So! Today I am going to disclose the top 5 secrets of K-beauty that’ll help you look younger and maintain that feature.

1. Moisturize your skin: use a facial mask

This might sound pretty obvious but you don’t know how crazy Koreans are to keep their skin moisturized. If you enter Olive Young, which is a Korean drugstore – for exact understanding, it’s a mixture of Sephora and Walgreens -, there is a section for facial mask and you would see almost fifty kinds of it having all different function: for pimples, for pore, for wrinkles… However, there is this one function that all of these facial masks have. It is the moisturizing function. And facial mask moisturizes our skin in an intensified version. Moisturizing is the most important and the most basic of K-beauty. Countless K-drama and K-pop stars mentioned using a facial mask as their skincare routine. Even myself, as a beauty guru, use a facial mask at least twice a week.

Compared to the United States, Koreans like using bright and light shades when they do makeup. (Of course, some people do smokey makeup in Korea, but I’m talking about the major) Most people don’t favor applying dark shades on their eyes and apply bright brown or light coral shade which is barely noticeable. Also, in the states, MLBB (a.k.a My Lip But Better) shades are popular. In contrast, as I mentioned before, Koreans love applying vivid color on their lips. This difference in makeup style has a credit on Korean celebrities looking young and lively.

3. A straight line eyebrow shape

Now, this would be the thing you weren’t expecting, but it’s pretty crucial: the shape of your eyebrow. If you see some pictures of Korean celebrities, you would easily find out that they all have a straight line eyebrow shape. The exact shape differentiates person by person, such as pure straight line, straight line with arch, but it is the most popular eyebrow shape in Korea. This straight-line shape gives a pure, innocent, and young vibe to a person.

4. Highlight your under-eye flesh

This is also the most common makeup detail Koreans use, and this helps you look lively. There are two ways to emphasize your under-eye flesh. First, you can use a highlight stick or a highlighting powder and apply it under your eyes. Or, you can use a deep brown colored pencil eyeliner and draw a light line on about the point where your under-eye flesh gets folded. If you google ‘애교살(means under-eye flesh in Korean) before and after’, you can see the pictures.

5. Wear the color contact lens

The final tip is wearing a color contact lens. The essence of a color lens is to help your eyes look bigger, and it makes this possible by giving a clear boundary between the pupil and the white part of our eyes. The color of the lens helps our pupil look much bigger and more vividly. If you match your natural eye color and the lens color, you’ll look both natural and young.

How to take a good selfie – Try colored contact lenses

Here are 5 tips for taking a great selfie. Before taking a photo, make sure to try colored contact lens to make a fine portrait shot.

Are you kind of a person who takes a lot of selfie photos and got upset with the results? Or at least if you enjoy taking a selfie in general, this article might give you some insights. First off when you take a photo of someone what do you do? You would probably look LCD of the camera or the smartphone until the screen turns nice. This would be basic stuff. But as a photographer myself, I’d like to walk you through more useful tips.

Tip # 1: Do not shake (or move) your hand when pressing a shutter

Often times, when you press a shutter button, you shake your hand slightly. Even a tiny bit of shake affects the quality of the photo. It would make the result blurry. So hold tight and do not shake!

Tip #2: Look where light comes from

If you understand exposure in general, taking a photo against the light would result in dramatic a photo. However, if you don’t understand it, don’t try it. It would make a photo very dark. Including most cameras, your smartphone built-in camera has an exposure compensation feature. If you want fantastic portrait photos, use the light. Adjust a camera exposure menu to make it overexposed before shooting a photo against the light. This would turn your subject brightened as opposed to dark.

Tip #3: Beware of the “Vertical/Horizontal line”

When you take a photo of someone, draw an invisible background line. Draw a vertical line and a horizontal line. Make sure they are straight. When it’s ready, place your subject. If the line is not straight, your photo will not look good. Therefore, always keep in mind that your invisible lines should go straight with your background lines.

Tips #5: Focus on your “Eyes”

Whether you take a selfie or take a photo of someone else, make sure that you focus on the eyes. If you use your mobile phone camera, you could always make sure to focus on the eyes by clicking the eyes.

When people look, the first point of contact is normally eyes. So when you take a selfie, if the focus is not in your eyes, the photo will look blurry.

Colored contact lenses, your magic wand!

The final tip for a good selfie: try colored contact lenses.

If you wear a colored contact lens, you can make your eyes pop. This will make an impressive selfie. At last, if you don’t know how to post-process a photo with professional software such as Adobe lightroom as an instance, I’d like to recommend you with the VSCO app. The VSCO app is available on both Android and iOS platforms.

The use of the VSCO app is super easy. Just import a photo into VSCO, choose presets of your likings, then apply it. There is a lot of in-app purchase presets. But you don’t even need to go there at all. You will be happy with free presets.

With this being said, here are four steps I’d like to recommend to take a great selfie!

Step 1: Try a color contact lens of your favorite color

Step 2: Take a good selfie photo with 5 tips in mind I described in the above.

Step 3: Import a photo into VSCO app, choose a template you like.

Step 4: Save the result and use it however you like whether upload it to Instagram or just keep it on your phone.
